About the Bambu Lab AMS 2 Pro
Bambu Lab AMS 2 Pro enables filament drying and multi-material printing. It is the second-generation four-slot AMS: it dries filament to 65 °C while it feeds, stores spools in an airtight chamber, and reads Bambu Lab RFID spools to set drying and print settings itself.
Key Features
- 24 colours / multi-material: serially connect up to 4 AMS 2 Pro and 8 AMS HT units, a total of 24 filaments
- Electro-magnetic air vent: automated venting facilitates dehumidification during drying and ensures airtight sealing for weeks of high-quality printing
- 65 °C drying: up to 65 °C drying temperature (Bambu Lab: the maximum is reached only when the ambient temperature is above 25 °C)
- Dry filament quickly and intelligently
- Auto-rotate drying: during the drying process, the filament spools rotate automatically to ensure more even drying
- RFID sync: AMS 2 Pro uses RFID to auto-match drying settings for Bambu official filaments, no manual input needed
- Brushless motor, faster multi-material printing: in Bambu Lab’s testing, the Bambu permanent magnet synchronous servo motor accelerates filament feeding by 60% and saves an average of 10 minutes per 100 filament changes
- Works with every current Bambu Lab printer; some need an adapter, buffer or switching adapter (see below)
Which option to pick
The selector asks for your printer and how many units you will connect. These are Bambu Lab’s own ordering options; every option costs the same. Bambu Lab: “Please check ‘What’s in the box’ section below. Some accessories are included, you may purchase extra as needed.” Bambu Lab’s connection rules for its AMS units on these printers:
- H2D or H2C: one or two AMS 2 Pro units connect with nothing extra; three or more need the 4-in-1 PTFE Adapter II (SA014), one of which is in the H2C box. See our Bambu 4-in-1 PTFE Adapter page.
- H2S: two or more AMS 2 Pro units need a 4-in-1 PTFE Adapter (FAZ013-N). See our Bambu 4-in-1 PTFE Adapter page.
- P2S: one or two AMS 2 Pro units need the Filament Buffer – P2S (SA011); the P2S Combo already includes one, the standalone P2S does not.
Drying power: Bambu Lab: “H2/P2/X2D printers can power one AMS 2 Pro unit for drying without the switching adapter. To dry filaments in multiple units simultaneously, each additional AMS 2 Pro unit requires its own Switching Adapter.” On A1, P1 and X1 series printers, one Switching Adapter is required for each AMS 2 Pro unit. For X1 and P1 series printers Bambu Lab also lists a Filament Buffer (SA003) or AMS Hub (SA002-N), a PTFE Tube Coupler (FAZ006) and a 4-pin cable (CAB002-N); our P1S AMS 2 Pro Combo includes what the P1S needs.

* Filaments marked with * require a higher drying temperature. The AMS 2 Pro cannot dry them completely; Bambu Lab recommends the AMS HT for better drying of these filaments. Bambu Lab: “The maximum temperature of the drying function can only be achieved when the ambient temperature is above 25 °C. When the ambient temperature is below 25 °C, due to natural heat dissipation, the actual drying temperature may not reach the maximum value.”
