ChompSaw questions
How does the ChompSaw cut without a sharp blade?
A small oscillating nibbler sits inside a metal guard and takes tiny bites out of the cardboard as you push it forward. There is no exposed blade and nothing spins, so fingers, hair and clothing stay clear.
What age group is it designed for?
The ChompSaw is rated for ages 3 and up with adult supervision. The Maker Bundle and Maker PLUS accessories are recommended from age 8.
What materials can it cut?
Corrugated cardboard up to about 3 mm, cardstock and paper. Chompshop says felt, fabric and thin craft foam usually work but are not guaranteed. Do not cut foam board, wood, plastic, metal or anything covered in tape or glue.
How many ChompSaws does a class need?
The published lesson plans are written for one ChompSaw per five students, so five machines suit a class of 25. Fewer also work if cutting runs as a station and groups rotate through it.
Does iDesign 365 ship the ChompSaw across Canada?
Yes. We ship from Ontario to every province, priced in Canadian dollars with no import duty or brokerage. Tax and shipping are shown at checkout. Items marked backorder ship when the next stock arrives. Schools and boards can order by purchase order or ask for a quote.
What is the warranty?
One year manufacturer warranty with dedicated customer support from Chompshop. iDesign 365 handles returns under our 30 day policy; see the FAQs page for the details.
