xTool questions
What is the difference between a diode laser and a CO2 laser?
A diode laser, like the M1 Ultra and the S1, is the more affordable route and handles wood, leather, acrylic in darker colours, card and anodised metals. A CO2 laser, like the P2S and the P3, uses a gas tube instead. xTool states the P2S cuts every colour of acrylic including clear acrylic, engraves glass directly, and cuts 3mm basswood roughly six times faster than a 20W diode.
Which xTool machine should I choose?
For a first machine at home or in a classroom, the M1 Ultra 20W is the lowest entry point and adds a blade cutter, printer and drawing tool. The S1 40W is the enclosed diode step up. The P2S 55W is our best selling model and the usual choice for schools and small businesses. The P3 80W is the flagship for production work. If you tell us what you plan to cut and how often, we will recommend one.
Do I need ventilation or an air purifier?
Cutting and engraving produces smoke and fumes, so every machine needs either an exhaust run to the outside or a filtering air purifier. The S1, P2S and P3 bundles we stock include the SafetyPro AP2 air purifier, which is the route most schools and offices take because it needs no window or ducting.
What can an xTool cut and engrave?
Across the range: wood and plywood, acrylic, leather, card and paper, fabric, cork, rubber and slate, plus engraving on anodised and coated metals. The CO2 machines add clear acrylic and direct glass engraving. Always check the material first, as some plastics release harmful fumes when lasered and should never be cut.
Are xTool prices on this site in Canadian dollars?
Yes. Every price on this page is live and in CAD. Tax and shipping are shown at checkout, and there is no duty or brokerage to pay afterwards because stock ships from within Canada.
Do you accept school purchase orders?
Yes. We accept purchase orders from schools, school boards, colleges and universities. Contact us with your requirements and we will quote against your PO process.
Do you ship across Canada?
Yes. Stock is held in Canada and we ship to every province. Shipping is calculated at checkout.
Can I return a machine?
Most new, unopened items can be returned within 30 days. A restocking fee applies, and some bundles and made to order items are treated differently, so check the product page or ask us before you order.
Do you install or train?
Tell us what you need. Delivery, setup and training vary by machine and location, so contact us and we will tell you exactly what we can provide rather than promise something generic.
All 15 xTool questions, the machine comparison and what is in each bundle are on the xTool page.
