xTool questions
What is the difference between a diode laser and a CO2 laser?
A diode laser, like the M1 Ultra and the S1, is the more affordable route and handles wood, leather, acrylic in darker colours, card and anodised metals. A CO2 laser, like the P2S and the P3, uses a gas tube instead. xTool states the P2S cuts every colour of acrylic including clear acrylic, engraves glass directly, and cuts 3mm basswood roughly six times faster than a 20W diode.
What software do xTool machines use?
xTool's own software is xTool Creative Space, usually shortened to XCS, and it is free. xTool also documents the machines working with LightBurn, which is a paid third party program many laser owners prefer.
Can I engrave curved objects like tumblers and mugs?
Yes, with a rotary attachment. The S1 bundle includes the RA2 Pro 4-in-1 rotary and the P2S bundle includes the RA3 rotary, which hold round and tapered objects and turn them under the laser.
Are xTool prices on this site in Canadian dollars?
Yes. Every price on this page is live and in CAD. Tax and shipping are shown at checkout, and there is no duty or brokerage to pay afterwards because stock ships from within Canada.
Do you accept school purchase orders?
Yes. We accept purchase orders from schools, school boards, colleges and universities. Contact us with your requirements and we will quote against your PO process.
Do you ship across Canada?
Yes. Stock is held in Canada and we ship to every province. Shipping is calculated at checkout.
Can I return a machine?
Most new, unopened items can be returned within 30 days. A restocking fee applies, and some bundles and made to order items are treated differently, so check the product page or ask us before you order.
Do you install or train?
Tell us what you need. Delivery, setup and training vary by machine and location, so contact us and we will tell you exactly what we can provide rather than promise something generic.
All 15 xTool questions, the machine comparison and what is in each bundle are on the xTool page.
